VILLAGE worship

Love God. Love Worship.

There are many ways to get involved in the worship team.

Village Church Worship Team Auditions

Quick Overview

Thank you for your interest in serving on the Worship Team at Village Church. We are grateful for your

willingness to explore using your gifts to help lead our church family in worship. This one‑page overview

is designed to give you a clear snapshot of what to expect before sending you the full audition guide.

Our Heart

The Worship Team is a ministry first, not a performance. Musical skill is important, but character,

humility, preparation, and a heart for worship matter even more. Our goal is to serve the Lord well, serve

our congregation faithfully, and create a healthy, unified team.

What the Audition Process Looks Like

1. Initial Conversation

You’ll begin with a brief conversation and follow‑up email.

2. Preparation

You’ll receive:

• Worship Team Guidelines (to read and sign)

• 3 songs specific to your instrument or voice

• Lyric sheets and/or chord charts (for learning only)

• Practice tracks (with and without click & guide)

You’ll be given time to learn and fully memorize the songs.

3. Audition Day

• Auditions take place on stage

• You’ll use in‑ear monitors with click and guide

• Virtual tracks will be used, with your part removed so we can hear you clearly

• No charts, notes, or sheet music are allowed

• 2–4 leaders will be present4. Feedback & Follow‑Up

You’ll receive honest and encouraging feedback after your audition. Decisions are made after review, and

we’ll follow up with next steps.

What We’re Looking For

• Musical preparation and accuracy

• Comfort with click and in‑ears

• Ability to play or sing parts as arranged

• Teachability and a good team attitude

• Consistency, humility, and a heart for worship

Nerves are normal—we understand that and look beyond them to see potential.

If You’re Invited to Move Forward

• You’ll enter an onboarding phase (typically about 4 weeks)

• Attend Thursday rehearsals (7:15–8:45 PM)

• Prepare all assigned songs each week as if it were Sunday

• Play or sing 1–2 songs with the team at the end of rehearsal

• Vocalists will also sing in the choir before moving to a wireless mic

This process helps ensure long‑term success, consistency, and health on the team.

Final Encouragement

Auditioning does not guarantee placement—and that’s okay. Our desire is to help every person find the

place where God can best use their gifts. Whether that’s on the Worship Team or elsewhere, we want to

walk with you and support you.

If you’d like to move forward just fill our the Worship Team Connection Card and we’ll send you the full

audition guide with all details.

Village Church Tech Team

Quick Overview

Thank you for your interest in serving on the Tech Team at Village Church. We are grateful that you’re considering using your gifts behind the scenes to support what God is doing through our church and worship ministry.

This overview is meant to give you a clear snapshot of how the Tech Team works, what the onboarding process looks like, and what you can expect as you explore getting involved.

Our Heart

The Tech Team is a ministry first, not just a technical role. While skills matter, our highest priority is a genuine relationship with Jesus, a servant’s heart, and a willingness to grow and learn.

We believe excellence honors God and serves people well—but character, humility, reliability, and teamwork matter even more.

How the Process Works

1. Initial Conversation & Testimony
We’ll schedule a time to meet before a Thursday night rehearsal to hear your testimony and talk through your faith journey. Having a personal relationship with Jesus is essential for serving on the Tech Team.

2. Getting Connected
You’ll be introduced to Matt Ross, our Technical Director, who oversees the Tech Team and training process. He’ll help guide you toward next steps.

3. Finding Your Role

      • If you’re unsure which position you’re interested in, you’ll have the opportunity to shadow multiple roles.
      • If you already have a position in mind, you’ll begin focused training and shadowing in that area.

Training Before Sundays

Before serving on a Sunday, all Tech Team members:

      • Attend Thursday night rehearsals for approximately 4 weeks
      • Shadow experienced team members
      • Learn systems, workflows, and expectations

This phase ensures confidence, consistency, and readiness before being scheduled.

First Sunday Serving

When you serve for the first time on a Sunday:

      • You will not serve alone
      • A trained team member will be alongside you
      • Support and guidance are built into the process

Audio Team Note

Audio training includes additional one-on-one time:

      • Shadowing during rehearsals
      • Dedicated training with Matt Ross
      • Learning how we mix at Village Church
      • Discernment around fit and aptitude

Once ready, you’ll begin serving on Sundays with support in place.

Final Encouragement

Whether you ultimately serve in audio, lighting, video, or another technical role—or discover that another ministry is a better fit—our goal is to help you serve where God can best use your gifts.

If you’d like to move forward fill our the Worship Team Connection card and we’ll send you the full Tech Team Process & Onboarding Guide.
